Red Dog first comes to town after being clever enough to hitchhike his way across the Australian Outback. In turn, Red Dog inspires bravery in some men, saves the lives of others, and provides a comforting ear when needed the most. Although the miners rally around him when the managers of the trailer park in which they all live try to banish Red Dog, he eventually has to square off against his nemesis, Red Cat.
