Best Buddies A Pig and a Dog in Need of RESCUE!

September 13, 2011

I love everything about this. An adorable black pig. A cute chocolate lab. Best buddies. I love how they’re standing close to one another. They are just so precious! I love everything about this, EXCEPT that they are in a shelter! Let’s network them and help find a wonderful, safe, forever place for them both to go. They are located in Waco at the Humane Society of Central Texas – and the shelter is full which means they need to find a place to go quickly. Michelle Nemec writes about them:

“Surely there’s a rescue/adopter out there willing to take this odd couple? At the Humane Society of Central TX in Waco, TX. The shelter writes: “Male intact chocolate Lab & his best bud piggy were found running around town, a wonderful person brought them in & put them in the side pens. We are looking to adopt them out together. They are quite a pair!” No ID#’s listed, but I’m sure they’ll know who you mean just by a description! Shelter phone: 254-754-1454. The shelter is overflowing, need to get these guys out!”

  1. I wish I could help! We already have a black lab but would love to help. We live on 5 acres in the country. How much would it cost to adopt. them? We live in San Marcos tx.

    • Hi Helen, I’m not sure about their adoption fee, but please give them a call: 254-754-1454. I bet someone at the shelter will be happy to answer any questions. Please keep us posted. I would so be waiting in line for them if I had space. They’re easy to fall in love with from this story and I adore both dogs and pigs!

  2. I sent this listing to my friend Carol who is a expert in both Vietnamese pot belly pigs and dogs. She’s going to call about these guys. If that don’t have home already, they could soon. Hope they are still OK.
    Thanks for posting!

  3. These were our two Remington and rocket the potbellied pig they escaped our yard and were missing for several days the shelter published this add and we found them paying the microchip fees and taking them back home together they weren’t turned over or lost and were in lost pets who we claimed after the shelter notified us they had found our babies.
