An Update On Norah the Stray and Her Puppies

Do you want to see what 10 beautiful miracles look like? On April 5, we shared the story of Norah the stray and her nine puppies living in a draining ditch (click the underlined text for the original story and photos). It’s a beautiful story of the compassion of volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of dogs left to fend for themselves.

Rekka is the foster home with Take Me Home Pet Rescue in Richardson that has cared for this precious young family since their save from the streets. She shares the following update of this precious K9 family.

“We are thrilled to report that all of the puppies survived and are now 11 weeks old,” Rekka writes. “They’re a sweet, happy and playful group and are ready for adoption!

“A lot of folks wondered if Norah would be “feral” since she had been on the streets so long and was so hard to catch. I’ve been fostering her and can tell you she is one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs I’ve ever encountered and is definitely not “feral.”  We’ve had a lot of guests come over to see her and the pups and she does just great with new people. She follows me around everywhere and she’s also turned into a bit of a lap dog.

“She was in rough shape when we got her and was skin and bone. She’s gained weight and seems to be feeling good and she likes to run around and chase and play tug-of-war with her puppies. We just treated her for a tick-related illness and soon she’ll start her hw treatment so please keep her in your prayers. She is such an amazing dog!

Rekka also sent us the video below so you can see the little family in action (click the arrow to watch) – all the pups are now available for adoption!

A lot of people donated for the care of these pets and Take Me Home Pet Rescue is very appreciative. Many of the pets they take in have medical needs, so funds are always needed to assure they can respond to an urgent shelter pet need when they arise and to continue caring for Norah and her pups through adoption.
